About New Policy Acknowledgements

How to leverage the flexibility and configurability policy acknowledgements in place of policy acceptance.

Overview

In August 2024, with the launch of the new Employee Education module, Thoropass also launched our new "Policy Acknowledgement" functionality. Prior to the launch, users were able to enable "Policy Acceptance" on policies – which has now been replaced by "Policy Acknowledgements."

With this launch, not only will you be able to track progress more easily, you'll also have the ability to launch a new acknowledgment on an updated policy version instead of having to create a completely new policy.

Policy Acknowledgements

Policy acknowledgements, managed in Employee Education alongside trainings (and set up either in Employee Education or directly on the policy), provide companies with much more flexibility and configurability.

Configured per version: Unlike policy acceptance, which was version agnostic, policy acknowledgements are configured to acknowledge a specific policy version.

  • When you configure a policy acknowledgment, you'll configure it against the most recent published version of the policy

  • When you publish a new policy version, any acknowledgement that was configured prior, will remain active until you archive it

  • All acknowledgments for all versions, archived and active, will appear on the side panel when viewing a policy

  • You can identify the version of the policy the acknowledgement is configured to by looking at the acknowledgement title that uses the following format (this title cannot be changed when configuring):

    • [Policy Name] [Policy Version] [Month of Start]

    • e.g. "Awareness and Training Policy (V-2) – August 2024"

Tracking has been enhanced: You'll still be able to track acknowledgements in the "Policy Reviewed" column on the People table the same way you tracked acceptances by hovering over the status.

But now, you'll also be able to track the status of the policy acknowledgment by locating it in "Employee Education" > "Manage" section and clicking "Manage" – or clicking "Manage" next to the Acknowledgement within the Policy.
