Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) provides an additional layer of security at login.
MFA requires entry of a unique code, in addition to your email & password.
The unique code is generated using an authenticator app on a mobile device. (eg: Google Authenticator).
Note: Duo Authenticator is not currently compatible with Thoropass.
Setting up Thoropass MFA on your Mobile Device.
MFA can be enabled at any time by your Thoropass Admin or activated by Thoropass no later than July 10th, 2024.
Once enabled, you will be promoted to set up MFA when you next log into Thoropass. (The instructions below are also visible in the Thoropass app at login).
Login using your existing Username (email) and Password

(we recommend Google Authenticator, but other similar authenticators can be used: LastPass, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password)Launch the "App Store" (ios) or Google Play (Android) on your device, search and download "Google Authenticator" (or a similar authenticator app).
Using your Mobile Device Authenticator app, scan the QR code displayed in Thoropass.
Click "Continue" (proceed to the Login section below)
Login Using MFA
Once Thoropass is connected to your authenticator app, you will be prompted for an MFA code each time you log in.
Login using your existing username and password
β(the MFA Code screen automatically appears after login).Open your Mobile device's authenticator app; an MFA code is displayed.
In Thoropass, enter the MFA code.
Click "Verify" to continue the login process.
Reset MFA (to Enroll a New Device)
When setting up MFA for the first time, a recovery code is also provided (as text or a PDF download).
On initial MFA setup, download or store your Recovery Key in a safe location.
The recovery key is required when enrolling a new device with Thoropass MFA.
Note: If you cannot locate your recovery code at any time, please contact your Thoropass admin who can reset your MFA.
2. On the MFA code screen, click "Recover Access"Click "Recover MFA".
(You will navigate back to the login page).
3. On your next login, you will be prompted to setup MFA on your mobile device
