What are Unified Controls?

Unified Controls are a single, core list of controls spanning across all of Thoropass’s offered compliance frameworks. Mapped by our expert team of auditors, Unified Controls provide a centralized location to view and act on your organization’s Action Items.

Where can I find Unified Controls?

Click any framework on your dashboard or go to My Compliance > Roadmap to view Unified Controls. From the Compliance Roadmap, you can filter the list of Unified Controls by framework, and group controls by Status, Owner, Activity Type, and Milestone.

I’m used to working with a specific control name. Where can I find it?

Use our Unified Control Name and ID mapping resources to identify a Unified Control by its corresponding framework control name.

You can also view the framework requirements satisfied by a Unified Control by clicking References on the side panel when viewing the Unified Control.

The IDs and names of all framework controls satisfied by the Unified Control are listed by framework. Click a framework control to view its description.

Why have the control counts on our Dashboard changed?

The compliance Dashboard reflects the count of all Unified Controls. If you were a Thoropass customer before the launch of Unified Controls, your total control count has likely decreased because each Unified Control may account for multiple framework controls.

Do Unified Controls impact framework progress?

No. If you were a Thoropass customer before the launch of Unified Controls, the control count displayed in the Framework Health dashboard may have changed, however, your framework progress has not been impacted.

How do Unified Controls affect Action Items?

Action Items are assigned to the Unified Control, so you can view all tasks from a single location, instead of switching between frameworks.

Do Unified Controls impact Action Item owners or due dates?

No. Action Item owners and due dates are not impacted by Unified Controls.

How can I view Unified Controls in the Roadmap?

Click Total Controls on the Compliance Dashboard to view your Roadmap and take action on upcoming compliance priorities.
