What is framework Maintenance?
When you first unlock a compliance framework, you'll need to complete a series of one-time tasks such as writing your policies or configuring your tools. These Setup activities lay the groundwork for a well-established compliance program.
After you've completed all the Setup tasks for a framework, that framework will be moved into Maintenance. Maintenance is a framework status that focuses on maintaining your compliance posture and keeping your program healthy, all according to what you've outlined in your policies and procedures.
What changes when a framework enters Maintenance?
Once a framework has moved into Maintenance, you can expect a few new tools to help you maintain your program:
Control Status Visuals
During Setup, you’ll see progress-based visuals on the dashboard and roadmap.
In Maintenance, those visuals on the dashboard and roadmap will change to reflect Control Status, a representation of your compliance program's status at a glance.

Maintenance Action Items
Maintenance action items assist you with the recurring tasks that are required to maintain your posture and prepare for your next audit. In addition to action item instruction, we'll surface Monitor and Integrations issues as they arise.
