Overview
The Combined Role feature allows Thoropass customers to assign multiple roles to a single user account. This gives you greater flexibility to define what each user can access and manage — without needing Thoropass support to adjust permissions.
By combining roles (for example, “Admin” + “Auditor”), you can fine-tune what each team member can see and do in the platform while keeping permissions simple and secure.
Why It Matters
Previously, each user in Thoropass could only have one predefined role. For organizations with more specific operational or compliance workflows, this was sometimes too restrictive.
Combine Roles solves this by letting you:
Mix and match existing role types for custom access control.
Adapt to your team’s unique structure without waiting on Thoropass to make changes.
Keep role management simple — no need for fully custom roles or external configuration.
How to Use Combined Roles
Follow these steps to assign multiple roles to a user:
Navigate to the Users page
Go to Settings → Users(Existing user editing) Select a User
Choose the user you want to edit.Assign Multiple Roles
Use the existing “Add Role” option to add one or more additional roles (e.g., Contributor + Risk Owner).Save Your Changes
Click Save to apply the updated permissions instantly.
(New user creation) Click Add User
When creating the new user, select the role options you'd like (e.g., Contributor + Risk Owner).
Save and create the new user
Notes & Tips
You can assign any combination of roles available to your organization.
Permissions from all selected roles will be merged, granting access to all capabilities included in each.
You can remove or adjust roles anytime from the same menu.
