Thoropass now provides an Asset Inventory, purpose-built for infrastructure components such as cloud accounts, databases, container registries, and other technical systems in your environment. This foundational feature helps your organization track what systems exist, what they’re connected to, and whether they are in scope for compliance.
Why This Matters
Many compliance frameworks require you to maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of infrastructure assets. These assets often include:
Cloud service accounts (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Compute resources (EC2, GKE, Compute Instances)
Storage systems (S3 buckets, databases)
Network components (load balancers, VPCs)
Maintaining this inventory helps you:
Scope your audit environment accurately.
Demonstrate continuous monitoring coverage.
Identify gaps in protection (e.g., unmonitored assets).
Automate evidence collection against defined rules.
Thoropass Asset Inventory brings all of this together into a single, manageable view.
Key Capabilities
Integration-Powered Asset Discovery
Assets are automatically discovered through your connected cloud accounts, including:
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Microsoft Azure
Once connected, Thoropass continuously pulls infrastructure asset metadata each day, including:
Resource identifiers and names
Tags/labels
Region and account IDs
Auditable metadata
Active configuration settings (for select resource types)
Tip: Our Asset Inventory can only find resources from connected accounts. Ensure that your Thoropass workspace is connected to all of the relevant CSP accounts. Make sure to scope cloud connections broadly enough to capture all relevant resources.
Unified Asset View
The Asset Inventory tab provides a searchable and filterable table of infrastructure assets pulled from your integrations. Each asset includes:
Asset Name
Asset Type (e.g., S3 Bucket, EC2 Instance)
Source (e.g., AWS, GCP)
Tags
Coming Soon
We’re actively expanding this feature to support:
Manual asset creation and editing
Asset-level control mappings
Export and audit reporting tools
Cross-account and multi-region cloud views
