If the same action item reappears after being marked as completed, it is a recurring action item.

Recurring action items:

  • Appear after your framework has moved to maintenance mode.

  • They are set to be completed during specified cadences, such as biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.

How to verify if an action item is recurring:
A recurring action item will display the recurring timeframe (see below example)

When completing a recurring action item:

  • Another is immediately created in its place.

  • The newly created action item follows the same cadence as the previous one.

If a recurring action item is accidentally completed:

  • You will see a new action item with a due date in the far future

  • In the completed action items drop-down, you will see a duplicate action item with the same due date.

How to avoid creating duplicate recurring action items:

  • Note the due date of the action item you are completing.

  • Avoid completing recurring action items with no due date set.

Please let your CSM know if a recurring action item is accidentally completed, and they will create a support ticket.
